Train accident in Pretoria

Right now I sit together with my wife and draw up a Field Security Plan. This is something our employer, Church of Sweden, expects from every employee abroad. We were just busy writing and reflecting about Traffic, when I got a message from the eldest daughter about a train accident in Pretoria. (I am not constantly connected to internet).

In our plan we just wrote:
We will probably not use other means of transport, like trains, local buses, taxis or motorbikes.
From before we know that trains are rather unsafe. Reading the Mail and Guardian I get the information that one of the train drivers is critically injured. We pray that his life can be saved but also thank God that no one got killed.

For us this stresses the fact that it always is a good thing to reflect on safety and security in advance. By writhing our plan, we are forced to just that. We are also thankful that we got the opportunity of taking part in the safety and security training at Folke Bernadotte Academy late last year. It helps us a lot.

Skönt att höra att ni är rädda om er!
Säkerhet blir lätt en färskvara. Händer inget så tar man större och större risker.
Repetera ofta!
