The University of
Stellenbosch confirms, on twitter, that its Rector, Russel Botman, is dead.
We confirm that @RusselBotman passed away in his sleep, at his home, last night.
Russel Botman was
at one stage President of the South African Council of Churches. It is a major
loss for the ecumenical movement in South Africa, his own church, the Uniting
Reformed Church in Southern Africa, the University of Stellensbosch and of
course for his family.
