Church leaders protects the Public Protector

A few weeks ago some Christian leaders, according to City Press, publicly criticised the Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela. Bishop Pule Makgethi said:
Our main bone of contention is that the Public Protector is poisoning the atmosphere in our country by her general demeanour in the execution of her duties …
Since then a few other church leaders have come to her rescue. The Anglican Archbishop, Thabo Makgoba, showed support on his blog, saying:
We welcome the Public Protector's reports on corruption and mismanagement. We thank her for making the country accountable and transparent. Her office's work helps to develop our democracy, and I call on civil society to join the churches in defending it against the current assault.
Reported by the SABC, the SACC, through its President, Bishop Ziphozihle Siwa, a few days later continued:
It was very unfortunate for the religious leaders who were in the media criticizing, attacking the office of the public protector. That was very embarrassing, uncalled for and very much regretted …
And just now I saw a photo on the City Press web site, where other church leaders, amongst them Desmond Mpilo Tutu, with placates saying:
Protect our Public protector.

Defend our section 9 institutions
It is very good that prominent church leaders contributes with their support.
