One of the
former bishops of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (ELCSA) –
Dr Manas Buthelezi – passed on this morning. I don’t know much about when and
how, but via my wife I got a message from the Church Wide Office of ELCSA.
Dr
Buthelezi was – in his capacity as a well-known proponent of Black Theology –
deeply involved in the fight against apartheid.
During a
period he was the President of the South African Council of Churches.
There is so
much to write about him. At this point I just want to pay my tribute to this
Son of the soil.
A short article about him, you will find if you press here.
