With the help of Google translate I have translated a call from the
Swedish Christian Council. The reason is the parliamentarian crisis. A right
wing, xenophobic party called the Sweden Democrats, blocked the Governments budget
proposition in Parliament. The Prime minister had to choose between resignation
and a snap election. He chose the latter. So, Sweden will go to the polls on 22
March next year. This is highly unusual in Sweden. Many people are worried that
the Sweden Democrats will gain more support. Here comes the message from the

The board of the Swedish Christian Council today called on
the country's churches to jointly pray for Sweden and the political situation that
has emerged.
Today, the board of the Christian Council of Sweden met. The
first item on the agenda was a common prayer for our country due to the the
political situation with an extra election in March 2015.
Church leaders and members of the Board urges all churches
in Sweden to pray for the political situation in Sweden on Sunday 7 December,
as well as during a novena* of prayer from December 21 to 29, jointly and
individually.
* Novena of prayer = Nine days of dedicating time of prayer practiced
in the Roman Catholic Church.
Our country is in a serious political situation. We
therefore urge all churches to pray for our country, our government and
parliament on Sunday 7 December. By doing this together, our common prayers may
bring blessing and empowerment.

Prayer for a good society
Blessed are you God our Father, who cares for your creation,
and shows all living things mercy. We thank you for Jesus Christ, your Son, in
whom your intention for every human being becomes visible. Through him, our
longing for you is evoked and you have called us to make a new start, as
pilgrims on the road through life. Along with your whole church we reach to you
in prayer.
God, send your Spirit upon our country. We pray for wisdom
and guidance to all who have responsibility in society - government, parliament
and all of us as citizens. We pray for a political climate of dialogue and
respect, for a society that protects the human value and dignity of all.
Meet us with your Holy Spirit, whom you sent for our
transformation, so that we can witness about you with or without words. Lighten
a flame of prayer in our congregation. Visit our country with a spiritual
spring!

Styrelsen för Sveriges kristna råd uppmanar idag landets
kyrkor att gemensamt bedja för Sverige och den politiska situation som
uppkommit.
Idag möts styrelsen för Sveriges kristna råd. Som första
punkt på dagordningen stod en gemensam bön för vårt land utifrån den politiska
situationen med ett extra val i mars 2015.
Kyrkoledare och styrelseledamöter uppmanar samtliga kyrkor i
Sverige att söndagen den 7 december, samt som bönenovena* under perioden 21-29
december, gemensamt och enskilt bedja för den politiska situationen i Sverige.
*Bönenovena = Nio dagars avsatt bönetid inom Katolska
kyrkan.
Vårt land befinner sig i en allvarlig politisk situation. Vi
uppmanar därför alla kyrkor till bön för vårt land, vår regering och riksdag
söndagen den 7 december. Genom att göra detta tillsammans kan våra gemensamma
böner välsigna och ge kraft.

Välsignad är du Gud vår Fader, som vårdar din skapelse och
förbarmar dig över allt levande. Vi tackar dig för Jesus Kristus, din Son, i
vilken din avsikt för varje människa blivit synlig. Genom honom har du väckt
vår längtan efter dig och kallat oss till uppbrott, som pilgrimer på vägen
genom livet. Tillsammans med hela din kyrka sträcker vi oss mot dig i bön.
Gud, sänd din Ande över vårt land. Vi ber om vishet och
vägledning för alla som har ansvar i samhället - regering, riksdag och oss alla
som medborgare. Vi ber om ett politiskt klimat präglat av dialog och respekt,
om ett samhälle som värnar alla människors värde och värdighet.
Uppfyll oss med din helige Ande, som du har sänt till vår
förvandling, så att vi kan vittna om dig med och utan ord. Uppliva bönens låga
